Blogging from A to Z April Challenge 2013 Reflections Post

Ah, the deadline for the Reflections Post is today; I'm 57 minutes shy of midnight, but I made it!

In retrospect, this is how many of the days in the A-to-Z Challenge went. For myself, at least. As a full-time nanny in Beverly Hills, and also the leading lady of an international entertainment company's editorial department, this challenge was exactly that-- challenging!!

The A-to-Z Challenge presented a whole new perspective on time management, as well as taking time to pause and think outside of the box for a moment. Think up a word to fit that day, that letter, and then write on it. Reflect. The challenge in itself was a continuous reflection. A practice on creativity. And while a sense of relief and achievement overcame on that 26th post day, I was sad to see it end, really.

I've never been a fan of endings. Of letting go. Of turning the page of something of which I found joy. But as everything does, there's a time and a place for things to run their course, and if they stay past their welcome, the joy soon turns sour, and it's not a matter of goodness anymore.

Perhaps a practice such as this one wouldn't have such a negative effect to continue-- as a writing exercise, and a creativity outlet, and just a moment to escape the responsibilities of the day.

Although I did see this as a responsibility of the day. A fun one, though. Something to look forward to.

It taught me a lot about myself, and which words my mind turns to at the thought of a letter depending on my mood and the events of the day, or the thoughts in my head at the time of writing. It's truly eye-opening, and often times, enlightening.

Thank you, Arlee Bird, for creating such a fun, interactive writing challenge. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will certainly return again for the following round whenever it should commence!
