Do you have a dream?

Dear Friends and Family,

Happy Friday, first and foremost! The weekend awaits as the final hours of the workday linger-- seperating many from 9-to-5 and a few days of freedom. The sweet baby for whom I am a nanny is currently taking her afternoon nap, so I decided now would be the best time to write this blog post. Reason being, I need your help.

There are two types of people in this world: the ones that can ask for help with ease, and the ones that struggle to do so. I'm the latter, and it takes everything in me to say, "Okay, I forfeit. I can't do this alone." Well, here I am, saying exactly that.

It's been almost nine months since I established Not Your Average Nanny Magazine. With the exception of a few generous donations, I have been financing the launch of this magazine out of my own pocket. I'm a nanny and a freelance writer. A lot has happened since launching NYAN, some very exciting, and some awfully difficult and tragic-- all of which required extreme financial attention. That being said, there is only a little bit of a hop, skip, and a jump left to fully launching NYAN and securing the trademark, and I am in need of a little help.

To create a magazine has always been my ultimate dream, for as long as I can remember. I am finally doing it-- bringing it to life-- and I'm so close, yet so far, from really making this thing shine. If my family and friends can come together and assist me in these final steps, I will be forever grateful. This is me doing what is so hard for me to do-- admitting that I need you right now.

I've created a t-shirt campaign to raise the needed funds for Not Your Average Nanny Magazine. The t-shirts are $25 [the lowest recommended amount], and they are available in every size from children's XS to adult's XXXXL. If you could please assist me in bringing my dream to life by purchasing a t-shirt, it would mean more to me than you know. My dream is on the line here, and if I didn't truly need the help-- if it wasn't crucial-- trust me, I wouldn't ask at all. But, it is. And I hope with all my heart that you will find it in yours to grab a t-shirt in support of my dream coming to life.

We have so many exciting things planned for the new year-- major interviews lined up; great new spotlights; fantastic features to be read. In order to do all of this, we just need a little bit of help.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this blog post. I am so grateful to have come this far with my magazine, and I am hopeful that we will continue onward with a little help from our friends and family. *If you purchase a t-shirt or donate to the fundraiser, you will be featured in the December issue of NYAN as our way of saying thank you for believing in this magazine.

Thank you for believing in my dream.

Your All-Write Nanny,

Five reasons why you should buy a t-shirt TODAY!

Happy Friday! Are you on the fence about whether or not you should buy a Not Your Average Nanny t-shirt from our campaign? We get it. Here are five reasons why we think you should grab one.

1. Are you a nanny? Do you consider yourself above average? Well hey, let the world know! Besides, we're all well aware of the constant, repetitive, "No dude, I'm not the mom/dad. I'm the nanny," every time we step out of the house. Let 'em know with an awesome t-shirt, and it's for a great cause.

2. Do you have a nanny? Do you consider your nanny above average? Why not show your appreciation for your stellar nanny with a surprise t-shirt that says so? Your nanny will be so honored to sport the stylish t-shirt, especially having been gifted it from you. And the holidays are here, so there ya go! Gifting season awaits-- might as well get ahead of the game and support an independent childcare magazine simultaneously!

3. Are you a tattooed, modern day, Mary Poppins? Tattooed nannies get some odd looks unfortunately, mostly from the an elderly crowd, or those who are more reserved (Hi Dad, I love you!). As one myself, I know firsthand the odd looks and questions that follow a peep at the "Dream" on my inner wrist or The Big Apple atop my foot, or the "XO" on my collarbone. I'm happy to explain the meanings behind all of them, which always helps to break the discomfort that comes with realizing nannies can have tattoos and still be awesome nannies [duh!]. Let the world know that you're not the average nanny with this fab tee. Join the 'not your average nanny' movement. We're all in this together, you know!

4. Are you a manny? That's all we need to say with this one. You're not the average nanny, dude. And as a matter of fact, you're awesome, too! Just like the many mannies we've featured on the pages of our magazine, you fit the bill. Wear the tee!

5. Do you consider being a nanny as more than just a job? Do you love the thought of going to work everyday and being a part of a child's life as s/he grows into one awesome human being? Well, there you go. You are "not the average nanny," so you're on our list of nannies who need this tee!

If you need one final reason, it's Friday; payday! So, treat yo' self to this fine nanny tee! We'll love ya for it, infinitely. Here's the link!

Have a great weekend!

November issue awaits; NYAN t-shirts, too!

Happy November! As we approach the first Friday of the month, we've got a few exciting things to share with you all. First, here is the link to the November issue of Not Your Average Nanny Magazine! Please grab your print and/or digital copy, and enjoy "The Grateful Gobble" issue!

Next on our list of exciting things is our t-shirt campaign that kicked off just last night! Just 31 days remain to purchase a t-shirt (or two!) in support of Not Your Average Nanny Magazine. The cost involved in creating such a niche magazine is rather hefty, and our editor-in-chief would be so grateful [keeping in line with our November theme] to receive any and all help in curbing that which she's already invested [upwards of $2,000] in the last eight months since having established NYAN.

From the trademark filing fee [nearly $500 with $200 more due in March], to printing costs [each print issue costs at least $10 to make], shipping & handling fees [international], and providing all 22 writers as well as numerous photo contributors with free print issues of the magazine, the investment of NYAN has been well worth every penny, and we hope to further expand with the new year just ahead. But to do so, we will need your help!

Please click here to purchase an official, limited edition NYAN t-shirt! Available in sizes starting in children's XS all the way to adult XXXXL, there is a t-shirt for everyone-- hey, even your dog!

The way that we see it is simple-- we have your back! Please wear us on yours. By doing so, you will be helping us out SO MUCH, by leaps and bounds, and for that, we cannot thank you enough. Plus hey, you get a really cool shirt for a really cool cause, and it's the first of its kind, so in a way, you're contributing to an important moment in history-- a premier childcare magazine crafted by nannies, for families-- complete with a detailed, international sitter/nanny directory.

Please believe in us, and we will not let you down! The future is bright for NYAN so long as we can gather the funds to take that next step!

Your All-Write Nanny,
