ABOUT THE FOUNDER: Originally from a small town in southeast Michigan, Brittney Schering first ventured west to Grand Valley State University to obtain her bachelor's degree in Professional Writing. From there, she moved to New York City, and then to Los Angeles, where she worked as a full-time nanny in and around Beverly Hills, as well as a last-minute sitter for 30+ families. With a love for children that is never-ending, she founded the monthly, international childcare magazine, Not Your Average Nanny - written by nannies, for families. Upon relocating to New Orleans from Los Angeles in 2014, Brittney started a niche service as The NOLA Hotel Nanny, which has since blossomed into The Hotel Nanny Group! Please contact us for more information as we hone the details of our circle of nannies, and we will be delighted to serve you and exceed your childcare needs! Email Brittney directly at firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact her on UrbanSitter today.
My name is Brittney Schering, also known here as The NOLA Hotel Nanny (on Facebook)! I am an experienced, compassionate, 27-year-old nanny. Having recently relocated to New Orleans from Los Angeles where I worked as a nanny in Beverly Hills, I came eager to resume work in the field that I love—childcare.
I had to part ways with my full-time, weekday nanny share job, Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 5:30pm, to begin a Corporate America career as a writer/editor for an international marketing firm here in NOLA. I had been caring for two babies from two different families since November 2014 [they were barely three months old when I began]. It was an awesome, very rewarding job, and I miss it! With my Bachelor's degree in Professional Writing, I had to move on to a stable and fruitful career with incentives such as insurance and a 401k, however, I still gladly offer childcare services on evenings and weekends for both local and traveling families, and that is why I am posting this here!
I am currently available for evening, weekend, and overnight care for children of all ages! Whether you are a local New Orleanian, or you're in town visiting for work, fun, or All Star Game weekend, I'd be happy to watch your little ones for you so that you may get the full New Orleans experience!
Prior to moving to NOLA in October 2014, I worked as a full-time nanny in Beverly Hills, CA. I've also worked all throughout Southern California, as well as in Michigan, which is where I am from. I am CPR and First Aid certified, as well as college-educated with a bachelor's degree. Along with that, I singlehandedly established a monthly, international childcare magazine crafted by nannies, for families. It is available in both print and digital formats!
With a dual-passion for writing and childcare, I am so excited to be nannying here in NOLA! Here is an introductory youtube video I created for my UrbanSitter account.
Happy Carnival, ya'll! On January 6, the magical season of Carnival officially began. King cake is everywhere; be sure to try as many of them as you can! With the King Cake Festival just around the corner, that is very possible. From traditional to Bavarian to Cake Cafe's signature apple and goat cheese (my favorite!), there is something for everyone.
During the season of Carnival, as the days lead up to Mardi Gras, many exciting activities and events happen around the city of New Orleans. Locals and visitors alike may wish to partake in the late night fun, and that's quite alright - just contact The NOLA Hotel Nanny to schedule your nanny-style childcare. Be sure to book me early to confirm your dates, as this is my busiest season for childcare!
Thank you so much, and laissez les bon temps rouler!
